Writing and teaching in France is an edible project working with my neighbors, the good farmers and artisan food producers of Southwest France— the people who turn dirt into food.
This is what barge captains do in Paris on their holidays. walk along the Seine and look at ...barges, of course. And walk along the Canal St Martin and watch les pompiers de Paris try their hands at starting a barge wash.
And when the city sights fail to amuse, there is always la Tour dressed up in her sequined gown.
Take a look over at the Relais de Camont site for a glimpse of Camont and the Julia Hoyt as photographed by French magazine, Maisons Sud Ouest. Mais oui, c'est chouette!

About Me
Kate Hill
Ste. Colombe-en-Bruilhois, Lot-et-Garonne, Gascony, France
I learned to cook from the ground up in Gascony—from the potager, orchard, river, and field. Barns and silos join Michelin-starred restaurants as treasured culinary destinations. The weekly umbrella-ed gatherings huddled on Saturday mornings, rain or shine, are my ‘meet’ market and a source of some of the best cooks in France, the farmers and artisan food producers. And my French Kitchen at Camont is a beacon of good cooking in my Long Village.
